From Insotel Cala Mandia Resort & Spa we invite you to spend a few days on the beautiful island of Mallorca and enjoy the Mondragó Natural Park.
This park is located in the southeast of the island, in the municipality of Santanyí, it has a total area of 766 hectares and one of its highest peaks reaches the 57 meters above sea level. This natural park has been called:
- Nature Park since 1992 by the Government of the Balearic Islands.
- Natural area of special interest since 1995 by the European directive.
- Special Protection Area.
- Place of Community interest.
From Insotel Group we recommend you to do not miss the park in which you will find a wide variety of birds. You can observe exactly up to 60 different species. Two of its most characteristic species are the Audouin’s gull and the osprey.
These two seabirds that feed primarily on fish and hunt occasionally can be seen, certainly a natural spectacle of great beauty.
As for its flora, we found some botanical species such as the Barlia robertiana, Anacamptis piramidalis, Serapias lingua, and Serapias parviflora. All these kinds of orchids are a clear example of the Majorcan flora. In this natural park you can walk through 4 itineraries on foot or by bicycle, during these walks or cycling routes you will know every corner of this nature reserve.
1st Route. It is based on a road with ascending slope that culminates in the Calo des Burgit through the scrubland and the heather.
2nd Route. By the side of a ravine park you climb up to Ses Font de N’Alis. Once completed the route you will enjoy the pond of Ses Fonts.
3rd Route. On this route you can explore its history and visit each of its archaeological remains.
4th Route. On this route you will know that agriculture plays in the Natural Park. Its route starts from the beach S`Amarador.
From Insotel, we wish you a happy stay in our Insotel Cala Mandia Resort & Spa and we hope you enjoy the island.
