One of the best plans in Formentera is to visit the two most distinguished lighthouses, the lighthouse of Barbaria and the lighthouse of La Mola.
Faro Cap de Barbaria
This is a very famous place for all the television commercials and movies that have been filmed here. It is a busy spot where visitors often take many photographs. In addition, it has incredible views, especially during the sunset.
Once at the lighthouse, we recommend you go to the caves, located a few meters away, as you can see wonderful views of the nearby cliffs.
Faro de la Mola
Located just 20 minutes by car from our Insotel Club Maryland, this lighthouse is another must-see if you are on holiday in Formentera.
To arrive until the Light of the Mola, supposes to make a small excursion, reason why it is a quite fun plan and to which you can dedicate a few hours to him of your trip.
Going up to La Mola, you will find incredible landscapes worthy of admiration and where you can take advantage to immortalize the moment with spectacular photographs.
Once at its top, the highest point of Formentera, you can enjoy stunning views. Looking up, you can see a cliff almost 200 meters above the sea.
In addition, in this lighthouse you can find a commemorative plaque that reminds the French writer Jules Verne, as he referred to him in his novel “Hector Servadac”. According to legend, his novel “The Lighthouse of the End of the World” is inspired by the Faro de la Mola, incredible right?
